test day?1/1/1!?!?!?!?!!!

Today in class we took a text on part one of our Greece section. It was pretty easy and I believe I probably got a high a on it. There was only one and maybe two questions I didn't remember on. If that. After that we sat and waited for everyone t one done for a while. Which was a while because I wad the first person done. Then we got out our laptops and wrote blogs. Thats all! Bye now!

Tuesday/?/?/?/?/?/?/?/?/

In class today we finished the notes on the slides. We talked about Hippies, a tyrant who became massively paranoid when his brother was murdered and kinda of went crazy. He started on a killing rampage killing any suspects of his brothers family and their whole family. They he killed anyone who spoke out about it. Eventually he was ostracized from Athens and  Isgoras and Cleisthenes were left to fight over the thrown. Isgoras eventually won with the aristocratic vote, but was soon pushed out by the loyal followers of Cleisthenes. Thats all! Bye!

Monday

In Western Civ today we took notes from the powerpoint. I learned about the definitions for each type of gov. Those governments were oligarchy, tyranny, aristocracy, and democracy. An oligarchy is a group of people who took control of the gov, they are usually wealthy, and they usually do it with military help. Tyranny is a leader who forcefully gains control of a gov. Aristocracy is a group of wealthy people making decisions for everyone. Democracy is a gov where the citizens directly vote on a public matter. Thats all!  Bye blog!

Friday!!!!!111!1!!!111

We took a pop quiz today in Western Civ about the notes we took the other day. I got a 20/20 because I have a good memory and I took good notes. I got all seas right which I was super proud of and I am very proud of my 100%!!!!! After that we took notes from the book on Greece AGAIN. Bye blog!

WEDNESDAY???!?!?!?!??

In Western Civ class today we finished taking notes on the Greek powerpoint. The last few slides talked about the Mycenaeans civilization and then the Dorian Civilization. After that we took notes from the notebooks. I didn't finish them because I am awful at focusing and slow at taking notes on book stuff. That was all we did today. Bye Blog!

TUESDAY!!!!

In Western Civ today we looked at a picture of a pipe labeled "this is not a pipe". I believe it very much was because it was. The photo was a pipe, or rather the drawing. Everyone tried to argue about it but there was no denying it was in fact a pipe. After that we took notes on the Greece powerpoint, which talked about the seas and different stuff. That was pretty much it for today. Bye blog.

MR SCHICK WASNT HERE?!?!?!?!?!???!!

In Western Civ today we had a sub so we read about Athens and Sparta from the book. This was really boring for me because I have a massively short attention span and I am awful at paraphrasing and taking notes on what is actually important. I learned that Athens and Sparta had two different forms of government. Athens used democracy and the vote of their men to decide things whereas Sparta believed that the government knew everything and that you should respect them even more than your loved ones. Your loyalty should be highest for only them. Thats just a little of what I learned! Adios

ANSWERING QUESTIONS DURING WESTERN CIV

1.) The Mycenaeans moved onto Greek mainland around 2000 B.C. from their leading city Mycenae.

The Mycenaeans fought a ten-year war during the 1200s B.C. against Troy which was named the Trojan War.

After the Trojan War ended a group moved into to the countryside, they were called the Dorians.

Homer was an amazing and talented story teller who wrote several epics.

An epic is an extremely long poem about a hero or heroic deeds.

A story about Greek Gods was a myth.

3.) Nearness of the sea impacted the development of Greece by providing possible trade routes, which helped them gain the natural resources that they lacked from other surrounding countries.

4.) The Mycenaeans adopted the idea of sea trade from the Minoans and they edited Minoan writing into Greek.

5.) Epics were important during the Dorian period because of their heavy influence on right and wrong, and the fact that most of the epics were about heroes doing the right thing for others.

WE REVIEWED FOR THE QUIZ?!?!?!?!?

In Western Civ today we reviewed for the upcoming quiz about Egypt that we are going to have. I got everything because I have mostly already learned this stuff but I'm still going to do a quilt by Sam for some extra comfort. It was a pretty simple review and nothing took me too off guard. I believe, hopefully, that I will get a 95% or higher on it! Im excited to see! Bye!

Feb. 4th!!!!!

Today in Western Civ class we took a quiz that had seven questions and it was worth ten points I believe. All I remember is that I got a 100%! So go Brenna!!! After we took the quiz, that was relitively easy and reviewed what we learned in the book, we started copying done notes from the slides. I learned that the Nile River actually flows from south to north, which is way weird, and I learned about the Egyptians creating the first sailboat and why. They did it to increase transportation along the rive. Thats all we did today! Bye!

Letter to Future Brenna

Dear Brenna (Me), As I write this letter I am told that forty-fifty year old me would be reading it. That's pretty cool and I bet I am ...
